Ocean City Church was originally founded in 1954 as a missionary Baptist church by our first pastor, J.M. Quigley. He grew the church very rapidly with a heart particularly for evangelism. We experienced a revival movement that saw many people saved, especially the young, in the early 1970s.

After Pastor Quigley went home to heaven in 1982, Charles Sansom, Jr. became senior pastor. He built upon his predecessor’s achievements with a heart for discipleship, particularly teaching the Word and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He also labored very much to see churches within our community work together for the kingdom. He built many relationships with other area pastors.

Pastor Charles went home to heaven suddenly in September of 2018, but raised up many spiritual sons and daughters prepared to continue the work of this ministry. After 64 years having only had two senior pastors in our history, Jeff Yates immediately became the third senior pastor. He leads a team raised up and determined to build upon the legacy and deep revival heritage of Ocean City Church.
